BalillaLUPIA

LUPIA, Balilla Balilla Lupia, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in Santo Stefano di Rogliano, Cosenza, Italy. His entrepreneurial spirit and ambition led him to travel as a young teenager to northern Italy and Germany to find work as a stone mason. As a young man the love of a wonderful woman led him to Canada where he spent the rest of his life with his devoted wife Maria. Together with love, devotion and courage they built a home and nurtured a family. The depths of my father’s love, compassion and generosity were immeasurable. His courage, strength and leadership were undeniable. He is the greatest example of what a father should be. His smile, his love, his support and his counsel will be greatly missed. He will now rejoin Maria, the love of his life and soulmate, in heaven where they can both watch over their grandchildren Gabriele, Michele and Isabella and only son Eduardo and wife Jade. He is also survived by his brother and life-long comrade Clementi and wife Giselda Lupia, as well as family in Italy; brother Sergio Lupia, brother Massimo and wife Franca Lupia, sister Carla and husband Giovanni Benicasa, and brother Gabriele and wife Bianca-Rosa Lupia. Visitation will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St. E (near James) on Wednesday from 3-9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 3:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Francis Xavier Parish on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at 10 a.m. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington.
