HEXHAM, Bessie Louise —
Peacefully at Hillsdale Terraces, Oshawa, on Monday, April 3, 2017. My Mom, Bessie Louise Hexham (nee Riley) at 102 years, born March 10, 1915, the daughter of Thomas Ashael Riley and Elizabeth Mary Pitt. Wife of the late Lowther Collins Hexham (1988). Beloved mother of Betty Lynn Martin and Patricia E. Heffering (Gregory). Grandmother of Cheryl Martin (George), Cathy Stinson (John), Ken Martin and Tracy Nicoll (Troy). A great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother to many. She was predeceased by her daughter Betty Lynn Martin (2011) and sons-in-law Murhle Martin (2006) and Eric Everson (2007). Thank you to the staff of The Centennial Retirement Home and Hillsdale Terraces for taking such good care of Mom. She will be missed by many. Imagine the changes she has seen in the world. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234), on Thursday, April 6th from 1:00 p.m. until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Westminster Cemetery, Willowdale, at a later date. If so desired, memorial donations in Bessie’s memory can be made to St. George’s Memorial Anglican Church in Oshawa.
