HOLMAN, BETTY ALMA (nee PROCTOR) Peacefully to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 5:20 a.m., at Thornton View Nursing Home, Oshawa, ON, in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of Ray Holman for 68 years. Mother to Edward Holman (Teresa) and Susan Jewell (Michael). Grandmother to Laura Holman. Special “Adopted Mother” (aka “Ma”) to Cindy Blake (Paul). Predceased by her parents Arthur and Rita Proctor and her sister Margaret (Peggy) Proctor. Betty was an active volunteer within her local Durham community for many years. She was also the pianist and organist at St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church, Oshawa, ON. Visitation will take place at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home, 5295 Thickson Rd. N., Whitby (905-655-3662), on Saturday, July 15th from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service in the Barnes Chapel Saturday afternoon at 12 Noon. A lunch reception will immediately follow the funeral service prior to the interment at Groveside Cemetery, Whitby. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region.
