KRETSCHMAN (SINCLAIR), Betty Joan With sadness the family announces the death of Mrs. Betty Kretschman of Haileybury at the age of 85 years. Mrs. Kretschman passed away peacefully at the Temiskaming Lodge in Haileybury on Wednesday, August 16, 2017. Betty was born on December 23, 1931 in Brampton to the late Edwin Sinclair and to the late Constance Adamson. Mrs. Kretschman operated the Sears store in Erin, ON, for many years and she will be remembered for her baking and knitting abilities, but most importantly she will be remembered as a woman with a big heart, always putting the needs of others before her own. She loved her family dearly and looked forward to any time spent with them. Betty is survived by her sons James and his wife Debra Hewson, Bill and his wife Nancy Hewson; her siblings Donna and her husband Gunnar Gellart, Doug and his wife Lie Sinclair; her grandchildren Kate and her husband Rob Forget, Adrienne Klaassen, Linda and her husband Edward Holley, Tiffany Hewson, Elizabeth and her husband Justin Murcott, Jennifer and her husband Jeff McBride, James Hewson, Tara Willard, Robyn and her husband Dan Nocilla, Jayme Hewson, Matthew Hewson, Blaine Paquet, Suzette Thompson and Shawn Temoin. Also surviving are many great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law Shirley Sinclair; her good friend Joan Cowan, as well as many friends and extended family members. Mrs. Kretschman was predeceased by her parents; her first husband James W. Hewson; her second husband Richard Kretschman; her daughter Catherine Temoin and by her brother Bill Sinclair. In keeping with Mrs. Kretschman’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Memorial contributions to Community Cancer Care will be gratefully acknowledged.
