BILOWUS, Olga (nee Wolanski) September 15, 1942 – August 23, 2016 Peacefully, at St. Peter’s Hospital at the age of 73. Beloved wife of John for 52 years. Loving mother of Mary (Gord). Predeceased by her parents Mary and Dmytro Wolanski. Dear sister of the late Bob and Walter Wolanski (Trudy). Sister-in-law of the late Anne Dochewski (the late Al), Angela Behun (the late Paul), Olga Krawec (the late Roman), Sonia Hucal (the late Slawko) and Anita Pettay. Godmother of Morris Hucal. Olga is survived by several nieces, nephews, family and friends. As a youth, Olga was an active member of the UNF in Sudbury, singing in the Dnipro Choir, dancing in “Veselka” and playing the mandolin. In Hamilton she served as an executive member and head of the wardrobe committee for the Junior Chaika Song and Dance Ensemble and was a past member of the Ukrainian Women’s Organization. She worked in the retail business at Coles Bookstore as Assistant Manager and Zeller’s Department Store until the age of 72. Visitation at MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with Panachyda at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 260 Melvin Avenue, on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 10 a.m. Interment Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery. Donations in Olga’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
