Courage and a big smile was with Cal until the end of life. No matter the obstacle he always said “I live on Thanksgiving Street not Grumble Corner.” He was a beloved and devoted husband to Lynda his wife of 45 years and his children Jennifer Newton (Michael) and Matthew (Melda). His loving grandchildren, Jack and Kate Newton and Benjamin Chubb affectionately called him Pup. Born and raised in Toronto, son of the late Willis and Pauline and brother Arnold Chubb, survived by his sister Doris. He will be equally missed by his best friends Erwin and Karen Buck and Ken and Carolyn Whiteside. Always a larger then life personality, when not acting as the CFO of MacLaren Advertising and ACLC Advertising, Calvin could be found teeing up a game at his home away from home St. Georges Golf Club, finishing his cryptic crossword puzzle or watching his beloved Blue Jays on TV. Friends are invited to the Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W., Etobicoke (between Kipling and Islington Aves.) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Funeral Service at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church (3962 Bloor St. W., Etobicoke) on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 12 p.m. For those who wish, donations appreciated to the Canadian Cancer Society .
