Carolyn BALODIS

(nee TRASK)

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Carolyn on June 15th at the age of 69. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband, brother, children, their spouses and her two granddaughters. Survived by her husband Peter, brother Raymond Trask, daughters Amanda Vomacka (Paul), Kiki Parsons (Davey), son David (Vanessa), granddaughters Jessica Vomacka and Scarlett Balodis as well as her favourite dogs Gypsy, Layla and Kolter. She was predeceased by her parents Archie and Noreen and her brother Ron. Carolyn was diagnosed with Scleroderma over 30 years ago and fought the many complications of the disease with toughness, strength and a positive attitude. She never complained and despite her disease, always thought that she was a very lucky person to have had the life and family she had and was very proud of her children and their accomplishments. She was an incredible wife and devoted mother who always put others ahead of herself and leaves an enormous gap in our lives. Visitation will take place at Turner & Porter, Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W. Toronto, (between Islington and Kipling Aves.) on Saturday, June 25, 2016 beginning at 2 p.m. followed by a celebration of Carolyn’s life at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Scleroderma Society of Ontario or the SPCA would be appreciated.
