Catherine BIRKS
Catherine in her 96th year passed away peacefully at home. She was born in Manchester, England and served with the British Women’s Land Army during WWII where she met her husband Hugh. They were married for 71 years and apart 36 days following Hugh’s passing on September 25, 2016. They immigrated to Canada in 1951. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Dearly loved mother of Peter (Sally), Stephen (Brenda), John (Johanne), Jennifer, Robert (Sharon); grandmother of Sarah, Matthew (Angela), Carolyn (David), NataLee (Kevin), Mitchell, Stuart (Priti) and great-grandmother of Liam, Ian, Cassidy, Landon, Tyson, Birklee and Carter. Visitation to be held on Sunday, November 6, 2016 from 1-2 p.m., followed by Service at 2 p.m., at Andrews Community Funeral Centre – Bramalea Chapel, 8190 Dixie Road, Brampton, Ontario L6T 5N9. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to your preferred charity.
