BOUNTROGIANNIS, Catherine (nee Milonaki) Passed away peacefully on Friday, October 13, 2017 surrounded by family. Catherine was born in Greece in 1931 and immigrated on her own to Canada in 1953. She then sponsored each of her 4 sisters-including a married sister with 4 children to come to Canada. She also sponsored her future husband, the love of her life and our late father George, and they were married in 1955 in Montreal. They moved to Hamilton the same year where Catherine went to night school to perfect her English. She continued her studies at Mohawk College where she completed a diploma in Early Childhood Education and in 1969 opened her first licensed Day Care Center, the Enchanted Castle Preschool on Upper Sherman Avenue. She hired dozens of people over the decades and helped hundreds of families. Catherine also taught Greek School for many years in Hamilton. She leaves behind daughter Marie, son-in-law Ioannis Tsanis and their children Alexander and Joanna Tsanis and son James and his children Andreas and Abagail. Her kindness, dignity and grace will be greatly missed by many. Visitation will take place at DODSWORTH & BROWN FUNERAL HOME (378 Wilson St. E.) on Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 12 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
