CLARENCEFREDERICK MEYERS

CLARENCE FREDERICK MEYERS July 3, 1931 – July 5, 2016 Two days after his 85th birthday Clarence peacefully died, having completed his last tasks and saying goodbye to his family. Clarence was born in Kitchener, Ontario. He was predeceased by his father Fred Meyers, mother Clara Miske and his brothers Gordon and Ralph. Clarence married Thelma Elizabeth (nee Brennenstuhl) and together they raised a family with joy and love. Executive Director for Cerebral Palsy for many years, Clarence continued his advocacy for persons with disabilities even after Thelma’s death. Clarence was predeceased by Thelma and his youngest daughter Lisa and many beloved cousins and friends, especially the late Anne Pahl. Clarence leaves a living legacy, his best friend and son Paul Frederick Meyers, Marie (nee Hoogstin), daughter Christine Lynn and Dennis Soules. Grandsons Carl Ryan Wolfe, Carrie and Alan Frederick Wolfe and Eva. Great-grandchildren Aniela, Colton, Cody, Kasper and Cassidee Wolfe. Clarence was a man of his word. He taught us much by the way he lived his life and we will miss him greatly. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (north of Lawrence Avenue), Weston, on Friday from 1 – 3 and 7 – 9 p.m. A service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Clarence asked that donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Heart & Stroke Foundation or The Participation House – Durham Region would be a good idea and we think he was a very good man.
