CYRILL SEKERKA-BAJBUS March 12, 1930 – March 12, 2017 Passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 12, 2017. Predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Thelma Sekerka- Bajbus (nee Harper). Loving father of Michael (Anne Marie) and Peter (in Liechtenstein). Cherished Opa of Keelin. He will also be missed by his brother Gabriel Hollo (the late Christiane), cousin Arthur Cameron (Roland, MB) and extended family Richard and Jinny Talbot (Sidney, BC). Cyrill immigrated to Winnipeg in 1950 as a student where he met Thelma at the University of Manitoba. After graduating with a degree in economics, Cyrill moved with Thelma to Sarnia and Toronto, ON and later to Switzerland and Liechtenstein where Cyrill worked as an Executive for Dow Chemical and Hilti AG until his retirement. Cyrill and Thelma moved back to Canada in 1994, initially to Winnipeg and then to Ottawa to be close to their granddaughter Keelin. A memorial visitation will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 153 Woodroffe Ave., Ottawa, on Saturday, March 25, 2017 from noon until service time at 1 p.m., followed by a reception. The family wishes to thank the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and Saint – Vincent Hospital, in particular the wonderful nurses, for their care and compassion.
