TREVISAN, Danilo Luigi (Dan) With deepest sorrow, we announce the passing of Danilo Trevisan on May 24, 2017 at age 71. Dan died peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Mary Ann (nee Mahony), and proud father of Steven (Julie), Lisa (Jeff Simpson), Sean (Rob Stockman) and Julie (Jason Gordon). He was a devoted Nonno to grandchildren Chris and Sarah Trevisan and Emily and Cara Gordon. He is also survived by his sister, Nellie Belluz-Hall, and a loving extended family of brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Dan was predeceased by his parents, Rosa and Giuseppe Trevisan. Dan was a committed high school teacher who worked for the Hamilton Wentworth Catholic District School Board for over 20 years. He had an incredible ability to connect with people, building relationships with students and colleagues alike. An avid cook and gardener, Dan was energetic and optimistic even in the face of his long illness. His wit, thoughtfulness and compassion will be dearly missed. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Imre Szilvassy, Dr. Christian Finley, Dr. Rosalyn Juergens and the staff of Juravinski Cancer Centre. Thanks also to the VON nurses and palliative care team who provided assistance and support. Memorial donations can be made to the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre Foundation. Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home – “William J. Markey Chapel”, 947 Rymal Rd. East, HAMILTON (905-574-0405) from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2017, and from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, 2017. Funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 416 Mohawk Rd. E., Hamilton at 10 a.m., Monday, May 29, 2017. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery, 254 Garner Rd.
