DAVID JOHN LAWRENCE September 14, 1930 – October 15, 2016 David Lawrence died peacefully at Bridgepoint Active Healthcare on Saturday, October 15, 2016, after a full and spirited life. We admire David for his strength and courage throughout a challenging time living with diabetes and vascular disease. He is much loved and remembered by his family and friends. David is survived by his wife of 38 years, Judith Ash, their children Ashley and Courtney, his former wife Judy and their children Kerry and Tracey and his children from his first marriage, Sarah and Paul and grandchildren Sebastian, Barnaby, Charley and Aiden and his brother Peter. His daughter Vicky and her mother Elizabeth His sister Joan predeceased him. David was the son of Doreen Carson and Wilfred Lawrence, born and raised in Montreal. He moved to Toronto in the 1960s. David had an entrepreneurial spirit and worked in advertising and the food brokerage business. He was an avid golfer and gifted painter. David was known for the twinkle in his eye, his sense of humour and his dedication to supporting various community causes. In his later years his passion for life continued as he joined Toastmasters and improv classes and travelled widely with his wife, Judith. He will be remembered for his colourful storytelling. David maintained his signature smile, charm and positive and courageous attitude throughout. His family and friends are grateful to the caring staff at Bridgepoint Active Healthcare and Toronto General Hospital. A celebration of David’s life is planned for 2 p.m. (visitation beginning at 1 p.m.) on Friday, October 21st in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Visitation Centre in Mount Pleasant Cemetery (east gate entrance off Mount Pleasant Road).
