McBRIEN, Derek Robert “Deke” —
Retired from Toronto Police Service, head of firearms registration for 31 years. After a courageous battle at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the age of 77. Predeceased by his devoted wife Suzanne (Sue) of 44 years. Loving father to Kim (Ron Evans) and Drew (Kathy Simmons) and son to Kathleen McBrien. He will be greatly missed by his good friend and companion Sherry Mohammed. Mr. Deke will also be missed by his pals James and Joshua Wall. Dear brother of the late Scott McBrien and uncle of Kerry (Doug) and Chad (Julie). A Funeral Service will be held at Armour Heights Presbyterian Church (105 Wilson Avenue), on Friday, September 2, 2016 at 1 p.m. with visitation starting an hour prior. Cremation.
