GALLAGHER, Desmond Joseph Desmond, at the age of 76, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, after living a wonderful life. Loving husband of Beverley (nee Cochrane) for 51 years. Loving father of Stephanie, Blair (Barb) and Jenny (Geritt Startek). Cherished Papa of Corey and Nicki. Predeceased by his parents Stephen and Rita (nee Donnelly), his siblings Jim and Anne. Survived by his sister Glenda Bartlett (Mike) and brother-in-law Tony Yantha. Des will be missed by many relatives in Hamilton and the Ottawa Valley. A special thank you to Aunt Linda and Cousin Magsy for your ongoing support. Des was born and raised in Mackey Ontario then moved to Hamilton where he worked at Dofasco for 28 years. Des was a sports enthusiast but most of all loved spending time with his family. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Ave. E., on Friday, September 22 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Interment will be at St. Narcissus Cemetery in Mackey Ontario on a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Peter’s Hospital for their exceptional compassion and care especially Nurse Peter.
