DIETRICH, Sister Mildred (Sister M. Edwardine) CSJ The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada (Hamilton) are saddened to announce the death of Sister Mildred Dietrich at St. Joseph’s Residence, Hamilton, 2017 in her 73rd year as a Sister of St. Joseph. She was born in St. Clements, Ontario, the daughter of the late Eugene Dietrich and Elizabeth Busch and was predeceased by her brothers Albert, Anthony, Rev. Edward, George, Charles, Leo, Frank, Harry and her sisters Marcella, Ann and Agnes. Her memory will be treasured by her twin sister Mary, and her husband, Romie Voisin, of Maryhill. Her generosity and boundless energy will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and cousins. Her deep faith, zeal and humility will be remembered by the members of her religious community. For over 50 years she served in a variety of ministries in Brantford, Hamilton Dundas, Guelph and Kitchener. She brought a spirit of gentleness and generosity to her roles as Dietary Supervisor, Pastoral Care Worker, ministry to the elderly and shut-ins and volunteer at L’Arche Community in Stratford. She moved to the residence in Dundas in 2006 where she lived an active life until her health no longer permitted. The Sisters of St. Joseph will welcome family and friends at St. Joseph’s Residence, 574 Northcliffe Avenue, on Monday, January 9, 2017 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. A Vigil Service will be held at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Residence. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada for the works of the Sisters would be appreciated.
