DiFAZIO, Maria (nee D’Alessio) Peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Macassa Lodge Nursing Home (D wing), on the 5th of November, 2016, in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Giovanni DiFazio. Loving mother of Cristina (Rosario) Pagliari, Joe (Anna) DiFazio, Lucio (Maria) DiFazio, and Anna Marie (Bruno) DiDiomede. Predeceased by her beloved parents Giovanni and Lucia D’Alessio, and by her siblings, Rosina (late Giovanni) D’Alessio; Vincenzo D’Alessio, Alessandro (late Carmela) D’Alessio, Giovanni (late Pierina) D’Alessio. Gaetano (Francesca) D’Alessio, and Mario (Eva) D’Alessio. Survived by her sister Gemma, whom she cared deeply for, (late Guido) Massarella. Maria was also predeceased by her sisters-in-law Maria and Immacolata DiFazio; brothers-in-law Domenico (Costanza) DiFazio, Luigi and Antonio DiFazio and survived by sister-in-law Consiglia (Peppino) Massarone. Nonna was adored by her grandchildren: Giovanni (Joanna), Clorinda, Giovanni, Alexandria, Joanna, Katarina, Adrianna. Loving bisnonna to Gabriela. Maria will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends in Canada, United States and Italy. The family wishes to thank the staff at Macassa Lodge Nursing Home (D Wing) for their extraordinary care and devotion to our mother. Visitation will take place at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton (near Upper Gage), on the 8th of November from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Regina Mundi Catholic Church, 631 Mohawk Rd. W., Hamilton, November 9, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 600 Spring Gardens Rd., Burlington. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy to the Parkinson’s Association would be appreciated by the family. Mamma, we love and will miss you always. La tua famiglia
