DILETTA MAZZOLIN (nee PIGAT) Passed away quietly at Vista Woodbrige long term care home on April 27, 2017. She was born on March 15, 1926 in Villotta, Friuli, Italy. Diletta was the youngest of nine children. Diletta came to Canada in 1960 with her three young boys, who were eight, six and two years old, to be reunited with her husband. Along with caring for her family, she worked tirelessly at numerous jobs. Diletta lived a life of sacrifice for the well being of her family and will always be remembered for her love of family. She took great pride and pleasure in preparing many wonderful meals for family gatherings. Diletta was predeceased by Romeo, her husband of fifty-eight years. She is survived by one sibling, Maria in Italy and four children, Frank (Mikki), John (Franca), Italo (Connie) and Sandra (Matt). Proud grandmother of Michael (Christina), Gemma, Andrew, Alexander, Kayla (Brian), Peter and Isabel. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews in Canada, Italy and France. Visitations will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Thornhill at Bayview entrance on Friday, May 5th from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Chapel on Saturday, May 6th at 11:30 a.m. In memory of Diletta, donations to the Alzheimer Society of York Region will be appreciated
