DEL BIANCO, Dina —

January 11, 1934 – March 18, 2017

Dina passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 18, 2017 with her daughters by her side. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Ivo (2011) with whom she shared 55 years of marriage. She was a loving mother to Marzia and Mara and a thoughtful and caring Nonna to David and Kyle Nixon. Predeceased many years by her parents Rosina and Giovanni Trevisiol. Also predeceased by her brothers Antonio and Sergio and most recently by Ugo in January. Survived by her sister Maria who is deeply saddened by the loss of both Dina and Ugo. Survived by nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. Dina left Cecchini di Pasiano, Pordenone Italy and joined Ivo in Port Credit in 1957 and together they built a wonderful life and a beautiful home in Oakville for their daughters. Dina had many skills. She learned to sew during a hospital stay when she was twelve and became a talented dressmaker, although she always said she was not a true seamstress. She loved to crochet. Dina was a consummate cook and there are many people who remember her fondly for that gift. Dina could have had a career as a hairdresser but our parents decided that she would stay home for her daughters and her husband to ensure a stable and loving environment. Over the years, our home was filled with ‘sisters and brothers’, children that she looked after, most of whom called her “Mamma” too. Dina was a kind and generous spirit to all and was a fierce and protective sister to Ugo and Mari. Our father always said that marrying Dina was the best thing that he did in his life. Friends may visit at the JERRETT FUNERAL HOME, 6191 Yonge Street, North York (south of Steeles Avenue) on Friday, March 24th from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Funeral Service on Saturday, March 25th at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. Entombment Holy Cross Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those who wish to do so, make a donation to the Hospital for Sick Children.
