Donald STEVENS
May 3, 1932-February 23, 2017
Passed in his sleep following a 3 month illness. Predeceased by his wife and soul mate of 57 years Florence (nee Vickers) Stevens and siblings Bill and Jean. He will be deeply missed by his son Larry and daughter-in-law Susan; grandchildren David and Blake; sister-in-law Shirley, nieces, nephew and many friends. Don and his wife Florence enjoyed supporting the local Sea Cadet Corps through auxiliary support. He was most at peace when visiting a family cottage through parts of the 1960s and 1970s where the honest hard physical work of the day was rewarded by catching fish in the twilight hours and playing cards with family in the evening. Don always had an ear to listen and a story to tell. His unwavering desire to help others smile or laugh was a trait that uplifted him and everyone he touched. In honour of Don a visitation/celebration of his life will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017, 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, 4115 Lawrence Ave. E., Scarborough.
