Born in Saint John, NB, to Luke and Mary (Wolfe) Bellefontaine, she spent her early years in West Chezzetcook, NS, before moving to Montréal and eventually Toronto, where she married Ivan on April 4, 1953. Family meant everything to Dora. Devoted caregiver, always having food and a bed ready for family arriving at any hour. Famous for her “from scratch” cakes. Incredible memory for names and dates, especially birthdates of family and friends. Devout Roman Catholic, she attended Mass well into her later years then regularly watched Sunday Mass on television. Our appreciation to the staffs of Trillium Hospital (Mississauga and Queensway) and especially the Dorothy Ley Hospice.
