GIBBS, Doris (nee Ritchie) —
Passed away peacefully in her 95th year on Thursday, April 20, 2017. Loving wife of the late Arthur Gibbs. Predeceased by son Glen (Jan), daughter Gail (Blaine) and granddaughter Christie. Beloved mother of Linda (Mark), Kathleen (Lloyd – deceased) and Cheryl (Jimmy). Will be dearly missed by her 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of Norfinch for their compassion and care. She was dedicated to her family, many friends and the Parkwoods Church community. Doris stayed very active well into her senior years and will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, sense of humour and her many life quotes, the fondest of which was “If you can help one person along life’s way, you make your own life better”. Visitation will be held at Paul O’Connor Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E., Scarborough, on Friday April 28th from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Service will be held Saturday, April 29th at 2:30 at Parkwoods United Church, 85 Parkwoods Village Dr., North York. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a favourite charity would be appreciated.
