DOROTHY PEARL PINKNEY Passed away peacefully at Waterford Long Term Care facility in the early hours of June 15, 2017 at the age of 90. Predeceased by husband Harold, daughter Carol and brothers Harold and George. She will be dearly missed by her son Stephen (Linda) and cherished grandchildren Sarah (Anthony), Devin and Jennifer. Dorothy was a gentle person, always letting her actions speak much louder than her words. She was born in Shelburne, Ontario, the youngest child to Vera and William Rutledge. She learned to find joy in all people. After attending business college in Toronto, she went on to work at Canada Dry, where she met her future husband, Harold and they had a very happy 37 years of marriage. In 1996, Dorothy moved from Scarborough to Burlington to be closer to her son, daughter-in- law and grandchildren. She loved spending time with them, joining in on many family activities. She was an avid reader and bridge player. Her family and countless friends will miss her greatly. The service celebrating her life will be held Tuesday, June 20th at 11 a.m. at the Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home at 64 Lakeshore Road West in Oakville. Visitation at the funeral home with friends and family will be held on Monday evening at 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Aplastic Anemia & Myelodysplasia Association of Canada (AAMAC) or a charity of your choice.
