DOUGLASDAVID BRAY

DOUGLAS DAVID BRAY May 29, 1951 – May 24, 2017 It is with profound sadness that Deborah Bray Preston and John Bray announce the sudden passing of their younger brother Douglas in Toronto. Douglas was born in Cochrane, Ontario but lived most of his life in Toronto. He attended Appleby College and St. George’s School and graduated from the University of Western Ontario (Psychology) and the University of Windsor (Business). He pursued a career in information technology and worked for several multinational resource companies before joining a small partnership which secured large military contracts in the US and Canada. Doug was an avid sailor and pilot but his main interests were in the arts. He loved jazz and was an accomplished swing dancer. After retirement he kept himself busy with acting as an extra in several film productions in and around Toronto. He was predeceased by his parents Marie Grace (Burke) and Alva Sherwin Bray. As well as his brother and sister he will be missed by their spouses Daryl Heasley and Judy Bray, his nieces Nancy Bray-Hamann (Edmonton), Susan Bray-Wong (Toronto) and Rachel Bray (New Zealand) and his nephews Jonathan Preston (Texas) and Mark Preston (Virginia) and their families. In addition, he will be remembered by his cousins and his many friends. Cremation has taken place and interment will be at the Lakeview Cemetery in Midland, Ontario. A celebration of Doug’s life will be scheduled at a later date. Doug was a lover of animals and had a special fondness for cats. Donations in his memory can be made to the Toronto Humane Society, 11 River Street, Toronto, ON M5A 3H2 fundraising@toronto humanesociety.com
