HALE, Douglas Harold July 19, 1931 – June 9, 2017 Douglas died peacefully at the age of 85, joining his beloved wife of 61 years, Jayne (nee Tanton). Loving father of Susan (Michael Donaldson), Andrew, Bruce (Debbie Stroud), and Bradley (Maureen). Cherished grand- father of Courtney (Ronnie Johnson), Emily Donaldson (Charles Keita), Karen Donaldson, Bob (Jordanna), Stephanie, Julia, and Kaitlyn. Douglas also got to meet his great-grandson, Grayson. Also, greatly missed by his sister Doreen Rossi, and many extended family and friends. Douglas was a great family man, supporting them always. He loved puttering around the house and cottage, his many hobbies including gardening, woodworking and reading (especially history), visiting friends and travelling. We all learned much from our Dad and Grampa. Douglas was President of Wilson Labs for 24 years. He was also involved in SRAPO, his church and various community groups. Special thanks to the staff at Brierwood Nursing Home in Brantford. Private cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line, BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Monday, June 26, from 7-9 p.m. A service celebrating Douglas’s life will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 27, at 1 p.m. Reception to follow.
