MACKAY, Dr. Ewart D. —

Ewart Dudley MacKay. Born January 21st, 1934 in Woodville, Ontario, passed away peacefully on March 3rd, 2017, surrounded by his family at Markham-Stouffville Hospital, following a brief illness. He is survived by his wife Brenda Luka-MacKay, his children: David, Craig (Adriana) and Andrew, and step-daughter Christiana (Jorge); his grandchildren: Sarah, Noah, Miguel and Luka. He is also survived by his sister Adele MacKay and her daughter Sarah. Ewart will be fondly remembered by many friends and colleagues. Son of the late Rev. E.W.B MacKay and Margaret Mae Shannon. Educated at the University of Toronto, Ewart was a successful Orthodontist for over half a century. An active member of Timothy Eaton Memorial Church in Toronto for over 40 years, his devotion and support of the summer preachers series being just one of his many contributions to the congregational life of the church. Ewart is well-remembered for his gregariousness, sense of humour and innate ability to put a smile on any face. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES – NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) on Wednesday, March 8th from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 9th at 11 o’clock in TIMOTHY EATON MEMORIAL CHURCH, 235 St. Clair Avenue West, Toronto, Ontario.
