Edward(Ed) FULLERTON

FULLERTON, Edward (Ed) – At home, surrounded by his family on Thursday, June 15, 2017, in his 95th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Kathleen (Kay). Devoted father of Anne (Irvin), Susan (Mark) and Linda (Ron). Loving Grandpa to Elizabeth. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered for his kindness, generosity, humour and personable nature. His greatest love was his family. Born on Ballyness Farm, Bushmills, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, to James and Elizabeth Fullerton. He came to Canada when he was 6 years old. Brother of Margaret Peel of Edmonton and Dr. Kathleen Fullerton of Toronto. Predeceased by sister Mary Fullerton of Regina and brother James Fullerton of Kanata. Ed was a Lieutenant and Intelligence Officer for the Canadian Army during World War II. He was an architect who spent most of his career working for Bell Canada. He was generous with his time having served for 17 years as a member of the East York Planning Board of which 3 of those years he served as Chairman and represented East York on the Metropolitan Toronto Planning Board. He was a proud recipient of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal in 2013 for his community service. He started downhill skiing in his 55th year with his daughters and enjoyed many ski trips with family and friends. He was an avid reader and until recently never missed a Blue Jays game. The family will receive friends at the “Scarborough Chapel” of McDougall & Brown, 2900 Kingston Road (east of St. Clair Avenue East), on Tuesday, June 20th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 21st at 11 a.m. in the McDougall & Brown “Scarborough Chapel” with refreshments to follow. Interment Pine Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, his family would appreciate donations to the Michael Garron Hospital Foundation (formerly Toronto East General Hospital) in Ed’s name.
