ELSIE(WOOD) JOYCE

ELSIE JOYCE (nee WOOD) Elsie Joyce, in her 94th year, of Milton, Ontario, passed away peacefully surrounded by love on Monday, January 9, 2017 at Sunnybrook Veteran’s Centre K2C, Toronto. Predeceased by the love of her life, her husband of 54 years, Edwin Joyce. She leaves loving memories to be cherished by her children Judy (Brian Watkins), Brad and Ann (David Garlick) and her grandchildren Wayne Sault, Shannon Gyde (Michael) and Melanie Watkins. Her late in life loves were her great- grandchildren Wayne and Eva, who adored their Granny as much as she did them. Predeceased by her sisters Mary Steel, Janet Williams and Margaret Somerville and her brothers John and James Wood. Elsie was a Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Halton Chapter 280, Past President of the Milton District Hospital Women’s Auxiliary, Girl Guide District Commissioner, and a dedicated member of Omagh Presbyterian Church. After serving in the RCAF during WWII she attended Dominion College where she studied Accounting and went to work for Singer Sewing Machine and later Hands Chemicals. Elsie will be lovingly remembered for her wit, grace, elegance, intelligence, her commitment to her family and faith and her ever present smile. The family will receive visitors at J. Scott Early Funeral Home, 21 James St., Milton, 905-878-2669, on Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 11 a.m. until 12 noon. A funeral service will take place at 12 noon, followed by interment at Omagh Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
