WILSON, Esme Dorothy (nee Temple) —

On July 23, 2016, a true English ‘lady’ with a beautiful smile passed away peacefully at St. Michael’s Hospital after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husbands John Fern (1945) and L. James Wilson (2007), both Canadian WWII veterans. Greatly missed by her children Cheryln (Robert), Jamie (Marisa) and Cynthia Warren (David), cherished grandmother of Cole, Matthew and Alanna Wilson, Daniel, Rebecca and Jonathan Warren. Fondly remembered by her family in England including her surviving sister Hilda, and friend Linda Ibrom. Esme will be missed by friends and staff at Hazelton Retirement Residence where she lived the last 9 years.

Born in London and a patriotic Brit who served in the WAAF during WWII at Pinewood Film Studios, Esme was also a proud ‘downtown’ Torontonian and enjoyed the views over city rooftops overlooking her former Annex home. The family wishes to thank her longtime companion Joana Fortes as well as the medical team at St. Mike’s for their compassionate endeavours.

Friends may call at Turner & Porter “Peel” Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga, (Hwy. 10, N. of QEW) on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 from 2-3 p.m. followed by a service in the chapel at 3 p.m. In memory of Esme, donations to Sleeping Children Around the World or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
