FIORINA ROSSI (nee VESCIO) On Saturday, April 22, 2017, while having her customary afternoon nap, Fiorina Maria Rossi (nee Vescio) passed peacefully from this life into the welcoming arms of Our Lord. Fiorina was born on February 2, 1929 in San Biase, Calabria, Italy and had begun her 89th year. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years, Angelo and is survived by her 5 adoring children: Tony, Gianni, Ermelinda, Paola and Giulietta; her 13 grandchildren: Suzanne, Teresa, Stephen, Victoria, Michael, Nicholas, Maria Teresa, Alicia, Sarah, Antonio, Daniela, Luisa and Gabriela; and her 10 great- grandchildren: Lauren, Kate, Riley, Owen, Marcel, Melinda, Maria, Michael-Steven, Arwen and Linden and one more on the way makes eleven! Fiorina came to Toronto, Canada on April 14, 1954 where she and her husband Angelo worked hard to build a better life for their Canadian born children. They sacrificed much to ensure their safety and well-being. Fiorina never tired of bestowing her love and devotion upon her family and continued to express her inestimable delight and pride in all her descendants right up until her final days. As Mom, Nonna and Bisnonna, Fiorina remained the greatly admired Matriarch of our family even as she struggled with increasingly severe cerebral issues. She will be sorely missed. We believe we will be together again… but we just can’t wait. Viewing will be on Thursday, April 27 between 4:00 and 9:00 p.m. at Highland Funeral Home, 3280 Sheppard Ave. E., Scarborough. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, April 28 at 10:30 a.m. at Precious Blood Roman Catholic Church.
