STEPHENS, Florence Elizabeth “Betty” Our darling Betty passed away peacefully in her sleep early on the morning of August 8, 2017 in her 100th year. Predeceased by husband Arthur, sister of Anne Buyers and brother Owen White. Beloved mother of Joni and Judy. Devoted grandmother to Jesse (Lara), Chloe (Oli) and Kiyomi (Meaghan). Her spirit will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Betty’s unique style and fashion sense were legendary (she loved her bling!), as was her great wit. Betty was an avid painter in her later years. A Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., on Friday, August 11th at the Cardinal Funeral Home at 366 Bathurst Street. Betty will be buried beside Arthur in the Newmarket Cemetery on Saturday, August 12th at 10 a.m. A celebration of her life will take place after at Le Select Bistro at 432 Wellington Street West starting at 12:30 p.m. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s name to the Toronto Humane Society would be greatly appreciated as she loved animals and had many treasured pets.
