FRANCESCA PESCRILLI

Born Francesca Aglieri Rinella in Termini Imerese, Sicilia, in 1935, she grew up during the predations of World War II. Having survived the battle for Sicily, she thrived in the years after, living the Dolce Vita in her exuberant infectious style. Married at 22, she gave birth to her loving son Vincenzo Butera a year later. After the breakup of her marriage she left for Canada in 1966 with her son and mother Lucia in tow. Working hard at Sunbeam Appliances she managed to buy a home and raise her son on her own. At this point she met and married the kind and loving Fernando Pescrilli in 1977. A year later she bookended her motherhood by giving birth to her loving daughter Maria. For the next 40 years she enjoyed a normal life enjoying the birth of her three loving grandchildren Joshua, Evan and Kimberly and her many social activities, including passing on her recipes to her loving daughter-in-law Gay Chisholm. Her last years were slowly taken away by the plague of dementia. She died in peace at Camilla Care Community on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 in her 82nd year. We are very thankful to the nurses and staff at Camilla for the wonderful care she received in her last year. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter “Peel” Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy. 10, N. of QEW), on Friday from 4-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 625 Atwater Ave., Mississauga, on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 9:15 a.m. Interment at Mount Peace Cemetery.
