Frances Madelyn JEWELL
JEWELL, Frances Madelyn It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our Mother, Nana and Great-Nana on June 22, 2017 in her 94th year, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Predeceased by her husband “Pat” and her 10 siblings. Lovingly remembered by her daughter Annamaria (Mark) and sons Michael (Louise), Jonathan, Christopher (Jackie), and Danny (Cindy). Special Nana to her 13 grandchildren: Aaron (Jen), Jordan, Chloe, Ryan, Zoë (Alex), Brett, Brock (Christie), Nik, Tessa, Andria, Elise, Meghan and Marcus, who spent countless hours learning the ins and outs of Euchre and many other card games as taught by Nana, and 3 Great-Granddaughters – her “3 Girls” Addyson, Sydney and Amèlie. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. The family thanks her lifetime friend Ardath Rice (Auntie Rice) for all her love and support especially in her last two weeks. Dr. Anne Boyle and Kathleen Willison for their guidance and compassionate care for mom and support for the family throughout her last journey. Thank You to the staff of 4 Medicine and the always friendly and caring staff of the Villa Italia, where she resided and CCAC for providing such special care for many years, especially her long time PSW Tammy Clarke. Special thanks to her lifelong neighbours from Carmen Avenue, along with her card-playing friends, who provided mom with countless rides and companionship. Frances was a lifetime member of Blessed Sacrament and Our Lady of Lourdes CWL, The Royal Canadian Veterans Club- Legion #163. Frances enjoyed her travels to the casino and bid euchre tournaments, gardening and always a good competitive game of cribbage. Donations in lieu of flowers to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. A Funeral Mass with a celebration of her life will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at 11 a.m., 416 Mohawk Road East Hamilton; Ontario. Cremation has already taken place. “Call Small, Win Big” Rest in Peace my Guardian Angel
