FRANKGORZO

FRANK GORZO Passed away peacefully at Humber River Hospital (Wilson) on July 10, 2016, at the age of 83. Loving husband of 55 years to the late Audrey (née Copeland). Beloved son to the late Anna (née Osym) and Frank Gorzo. Cherished father to Darlene Gorzo (and her partner Michael Thompson) and Gail Hamilton (and her partner John Janeway). Frank was born and grew up in Toronto. As a young boy he played violin in several local groups. He graduated from Central Technical School, after which he studied mechanical drafting at Ryerson Polytechnic. In 1953, Frank joined the TTC under the Commission’s apprenticeship program. He retired from the TTC in 1992 after 39 years of service. Frank’s mother and father were from the Ukraine and Slovakia respectively and he was raised in a home rich in culture, language and delicious food. Although Frank spoke the “home” languages fluently, he considered himself to be thoroughly Canadian. Frank met his great love, Audrey, at a dance in Toronto and they married in 1958. They were married for 55 years at the time of Audrey’s passing in 2013. You were a wonderful father, Dad. Throughout the course of my life, as your daughter, I always felt safe and protected. I am grateful for you and for the wonderful home and life that you and mum made for me. I will love you and miss you always. Frank’s family would like to express their gratitude to the Dialysis Clinic of Humber River Hospital (Wilson) and the Village of Humber Heights Retirement Residence. You care for your patients and residents with skill, compassion and grace. Friends and family will be received on Friday, July 15, 2016, at Glendale Funeral Home, 1810 Albion Road. Visitation will commence at 9:00 a.m. with funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m.
