Franklin”Frank” Tack

Franklin (Frank) Edwin TACK

Frank lost his six year battle with chordorma cancer on June 14. His tenacity and determination, a lifelong trait, served him well. After his first major surgery in 2010 he regained what to others looked like an almost normal life, but in reality he overcame a daily struggle to do what we take for granted. His career of over 40 years with Ford Motor Company began in Vancouver as an hourly employee while attending University. After graduating he moved to Toronto where he joined the Human Resources team until his retirement in 2000. His ability to carry on after the loss of his son David three years ago to brain cancer, and the return of his own a year later, shows his strength of character and resilience. He is survived by his wife Sherrie, his daughter Johanna and husband Mark Geddes, and daughter-in-law Kim. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Andrew, James, Sarah, Hailey and Rachel. Brother of Robert, (deceased), George, Ed, Larry and Yvonne in British Columbia. A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at Turner and Porter Funeral Home, Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves.). Reception to follow. Special thanks to the Palliative Care Team at Dorothy Ley Hospice, Sandy Doyle and Dr. Mavrogiannis, CCAC, Mississauga Halton and Spectrum Health Care, especially PSW Alicia and Nurses Yolanta and Elisabeth for their compassionate care this past year. If desired, memorial donations to Dorothy Ley Hospice would be appreciated
