GERALDINE MARIE (GERRY) DEVEAU Gerry passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017, after a prolonged struggle with dementia. Gerry is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, daughter Janice, son and daughter-in-law Dan and Kim and her 2 grandchildren Riley and Ryan. She also had cherished extended family in her hometown of Cheticamp, Cape Breton Island, as well as good friends in Fort Myers Beach. Gerry left home at a young age and came to Toronto in 1951. She met and married Robert in 1955 and they soon started a business and family shortly thereafter. She worked at General Electric for 7 years, then helped out in the family business for years while raising 2 kids. Later in life, Gerry would enjoy travel, golf, the Caper Beach Club in Fort Myers Beach and long stays back in Cheticamp with her sister Gladys and family there. She loved life, food (especially dessert), walking the beach and most of all, a good party, with lots of dancing. She will be missed by all. A Mass will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 1 p.m. at St. Boniface Church (Markham Rd.) with a reception to follow at Scarboro Golf Club. The Deveau family would like to extend their gratitude to the great people at Extendicare Guildwood. Their care, compassion and efforts truly made Gerry’s last year the best it could possibly be. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to a charity of your choice.
