LEYSHON, Gethyn William While actively pursuing his lifelong passion for fitness and health at the Les Chater YMCA on March 8, 2017, Gethyn William Leyshon (a proud Welshman) suddenly passed away in his 85th year as the heart that gave so much gave out. We are profoundly saddened by this great loss of a wonderful husband of 61 years to Ruthene and dearly loved father to Christopher (predeceased), Taryn (Bebbington) and Dea (Gillard). An amazing father-in-law to Raymond and Maurice. An exceptional Poppa, he enjoyed his five grandchildren and their three spouses along with his five great-grandchildren. He is survived by his remaining sibling, Glynn (Judy) Leyshon of London, Ontario. An employee of Norton’s Co. of Canada for 32 years. His passion for fitness started young, with his 72 year membership with the YMCA and his volunteer participation for 64 years. His volunteering with the VON, Meals on Wheels for 27 years was a service he valued. Actively involved with Dr. Greg Curnew’s (cardiologist) Life Meeting and Good Food Box programs for heart health. An active participant at Paramount Drive Alliance Church for over 50 years, serving in many capacities to share the love of God. A family only service of remembrance will be held.
