FERMA, Giovanna – Passed away peacefully on March 12, 2017 at the age of 97. Born in Ragusa, Sicily, on February 24, 1920. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Giorgio Ferma and her son Salvatore Ferma. Survived by her beloved son Giuseppe Ferma (Shirley), granddaughters Jody Ferma (fiancé Ken Movat), Roseanne Margetson (John) and Christina Ferma, great- granddaughters Cassandra and Clarissa and many nephews and nieces in Italy. The family wishes to thank all the caregivers and staff at St. Clair O’Connor Community. Visitation will be at PAUL O’CONNOR FUNERAL HOME, 1939 Lawrence Avenue East, Scarborough (between Warden and Pharmacy), on Friday, March 17th from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Canadian Martyrs Church, 522 Plains Road, Toronto (Woodbine, south of O’Connor). Entombment to follow at Highland Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society .
