GIUSEPPE LABRICCIOSA March 19, 1932 – March 4, 2017 After a lengthy battle with cancer Giuseppe passed away peacefully at home with family. Beloved husband of Vanda Marcella and proud father of Maria Grazia (Pal Di Iulio) and Francesco (Martina Mozolova). Doting nonno to Stefania (Nick Vescio), Davide (Dolores Goizueta), Dante, Lola, Julian and Alessandra (Ryan Elliott), Lucas and Laryssa and their mother Denise Pierri. Bisnonno to the newest additions: Talia, Chiara and Isabel. Predeceased by brother Alfredo, he will be sorely missed by his brother Vincenzo (Dana) and sister Cristina (Michele Romano), sisters-in-law Elena and Amelia Labricciosa and Iole Musa and many nieces, nephews and friends in Florida, New York and Italy. The son of Enrichetta Troiano and Emidio Labricciosa, Giuseppe was born in Penne, Pescara. He left Italy to find work in the mines of Belgium in 1950. There he met and married the love of his life Marcella. In 1957, he ventured to Toronto soon to be joined by his wife, daughter, brothers, sister and parents. From below ground he soon found himself working as a Forming Foreman, for 35 years with Avenue Structures, changing forever the skyline of Toronto. Although he looked tough, he was a simple, wise, hardworking and gentle man who loved his family and nothing more than a plate of pasta, glass of wine, a game of cards, adventure movies and most of all to dance the tango with his beloved Marcella. Gratitude to the staff of St. Elizabeth, Bayshore and nurses and doctors who cared for this humble gentleman. Family and friends will be received at Bernardo Funeral Home (2960 Dufferin St., south of Lawrence Ave. W.) on Tuesday, March 7th from 6-9 p.m. and on Wednesday, March 8th from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church (811 Lawrence Ave. W., at Dufferin St.) on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 10 a.m. Entombment to follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens (1810 Albion Rd., at Hwy. 27). In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society , the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care or charity of your choice would be appreciated.
