GLORIA LEON BAYLIS (née CLARKE) June 29, 1929 – April 12, 2017 Gloria, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Chateau Westmount, Montreal. Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 19th, Ascension of Our Lord Parish. Interment at Mount Royal Cemetery. Visitation from 3:00-5:00 and 6:00-9:00 p.m. April 18th at Centre Funéraire Côte-des-Neiges. Gloria was born in Barbados, trained in nursing in England, moved to Canada in 1952, met and married Richard Baylis. She had a remarkably successful and varied career in nursing, culminating in the creation of Baylis Medical Company. Gloria is remembered for her indomitable and ‘fun-loving’ spirit.
