GUERINO DONATO VERRILLI God called Guerino peacefully on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the age of 84. He will be forever missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Teresa. Cherished by his dear children, Fredina (Jack Elliott), Cora (Robert Patriarca), Danny and Robert (Sophie). Proud Nonno to Rino (Diana), Daniela (Justin), Christina, Liana, Lucas, Gabriela and Angela and by his newborn great-grandson Savio. Guerino will always be remembered by his siblings late Rosa (late Giovanni), late Vincenzo (late Ermelinda), late Rocco (Carmela), late Dionigi (Antonietta) and Mario (late Ute). Since his arrival from Castelfranco in Miscano to Toronto in 1952, Guerino spent his whole working life in the construction industry, with his initial skill in carpentry. Guerino and his brothers started a structural formwork company in 1967 which, over almost four decades, contributed to the skyline of Toronto. Throughout his life he was an influential role model for his family, friends and colleagues and he achieved his success through tireless determination, ambition and commitment to everything he undertook. Guerino held a strong passion for his church, the annual Feast of St. Roch and for his vegetable and flower gardens. He will be held dearly in the hearts of his family, relatives and many friends. Visitations will take place at the Vescio Funeral Home Woodbridge Chapel (8101 Weston Rd., 905-850-3332) on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. and Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 10 a.m., at St. Roch’s Roman Catholic Church (2889 Islington Ave., south of Steeles Ave.). Entombment to follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens (on Albion Rd., at Hwy 27). If so desired, donations in memory of Guerino may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to The Kidney Foundation.
