H. LLOYD WOOD Lloyd died peacefully at Hamilton General Hospital on Monday, July 11, 2016. Beloved husband of Alison Gayner Wood (nee McLean). Devoted and loving father to Geoff Wood (Kory) and Chris Ricketts (Glen); loving grandfather to Syanne Wood; and best friend to ZoĆ« his cat. Lloyd was born in Port Philip, Nova Scotia on September 10, 1924. He lived in Pugwash Junction during his early years and joined the RAF during WWII. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto in 1951 and obtained his P. Eng. In the early years of his career, he held progressively senior positions in Engineering Sales and Marketing. In the 1960s, he joined the Ontario Government, where he enjoyed a long and illustrious career with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Ontario International Corporation. Lloyd loved anything to do with airplanes. He spent the early years of his retirement building an ultralight airplane in his basement, which he flew out of York Airport, just south of Hamilton. A Celebration of Life will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street (one block north of City Hall), Burlington (905-632-3333), on Friday, July 15th at 10:30 a.m. For those who wish, donations in memory of Lloyd to a charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family. www.smithsfh.com
