ARTHUR, Heather Mary, BScN, MScN, PhD, F.E.S.C. Passed away peacefully with her family by her side July 27, 2017 at Carpenter Hospice. She is survived by her husband, Steve Pleavin, son, Elliot Craig (Krista), and brother, Brian (Lin). Born in Montreal to Bill and Eileen Arthur, Heather came to make Hamilton her home where she was a Professor of Nursing at McMaster University. Her passions were focused on cardiac research and the development of new researchers. She was a strong advocate for women and fully believed in the equality of all people. She treasured most her time in the garden and time with her grandson, Hayden. Most of all, she loved people and a room would light up when she walked in. A visitation will be held at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME , 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Saturday from 2 – 4 p.m. where a Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at 3 p.m. Cremation has taken place. The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Levine and the staff at Juravinski Cancer Centre for giving us 10 great years since the start of this breast cancer journey and the staff and volunteers at the Carpenter Hospice for the care and dignity at the end of the journey. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Bright Run at Juravinski Hospital or the Carpenter Hospice in Burlington.
