HEINZLOSBERG

HEINZ LOSBERG Heinz Losberg lived selflessly until the end. He passed peacefully on March 3, 2017 in his 81st year. Survived by his wife Erika of 57 years; his 4 children: Heinz (Wendy), Sylvia, Christa (Simon) and Monika; and 5 grandchildren: Stefan, Jessica, Stephanie, Sophia and Liam. Also dearly missed by friends and family in Austria, as well as many fostered through work and the German Choir at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Born in Germany, Heinz’s first job was in a cotton mill where he was promoted to foreman before immigrating to Canada at the age of 19. Not long after his arrival, Heinz aspired to do more than be a Chef’s Assistant and it was in 1962 that he started his career at Fuller Brush Co. as a door-to-door salesman. In 1977 Heinz received top sales honour placing 1st amongst 3000 peers. He said, “enthusiasm is not taught, it’s caught”. Heinz remained loyal to his customers and continued to make calls just prior to his passing. He was dedicated to his work and devoted to his family. His love was unconditional and it was evident in everything he did. His friendly disposition and incredible zest for life never waivered and neither will our love for a man who was simple, straightforward and always kind. He learned to be content and taught others the way. Prouder we could not be. Thank you for the many years of sacrifice and the incredible memories we all have because of it. We will never forget you and everything you brought to our lives. We are better because of you and your legacy lives on in all of us who were privileged enough to know you. We would like to thank Sunnybrook for the tremendous care that they provided and most especially Dr. Bjarnason, Dr. Rafael, Dr. Higgins and Nesan Bandali for their dedication and devotion to a cause worth fighting for. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Odette Cancer Centre, Sunnybrook Hospital. Visitation on Thursday, March 9, 4-8 p.m. and/or Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 10 followed by burial and reception at Holy Cross Cemetery, 8361 Yonge St. Thornhill.
