HICKS, Helen Elizabeth (née Merklinger) 1934-2017 Born in Owen Sound, Ontario of the late Edward and Mildred Merklinger. Helen passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital, on February 23, 2017 at the age of 82. Beloved wife of the late Donald Hicks (2011). Cherished mother to Jack (Lori), Ron (Wendy), Ann (Barbara) and John (Jessica). Dear grandmother of Amanda, Leanne, Ken, Mackenzie and Keira. Predeceased by her brothers Bill (Ginny) and Bob, and her brother-in-law Bob Hicks (Sheila). Survived by her cherished sister-in-law Barbara Radford, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Helen was a generous, loving and strong woman, and a wonderful partner and parent. Her life journey with her husband was a testament to their shared love of family, food, faith, and fun. Our family wishes to express our gratitude to Dr. Kathryn Swan and the staff at Joseph Brant Hospital for the tremendous care they gave our mother.
