THOMSON, Herbert Garrett “Herb” “Garry” Peacefully at Scarborough General Hospital after a brief illness, Herb/Garry passed away on Friday March 23, 2018.
He was born in Ottawa, ON August 29, 1930 and is survived by his wife, Dawn Marlene (Pethick) of 56 years. Lovingly remembered by his sons Ross Carl, Ronald George (Terri-Lyn) and Roy Colin (Laura). Very proud grandfather of Nolan George, Laryssa Brianne, Carter Ryan, Aaron Natale, Natalie Lauren and Garrett Roy. Survived by his brother Gregory Bruce (the late Mary) and his sister Barbara Ann (George) Brancato. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Carl Norman and Mabel Dorothy (Soul), his brothers, Murray Paul (Marion), Stanley Wallace (Muriel), Ross Clarke, Carl Norman (Linda) and his sister Gloria Alicia (Lawrence) Regan.
Herb/Garry was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan and a longtime volunteer with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Visitation to be held at Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Ave. E., Agincourt (east of Kennedy Rd.) on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral Mass to be held at St Barnabas Roman Catholic Church, 10 Washburn Way, Scarborough, on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Cremation. Flowers gratefully declined.
