D’ROZARIO, Herbert Peacefully at his home, Herbert (Herb) D’Rozario passed away on August 6, 2017 at the age of 92. Loving husband for 59 years of Hazel (nee Anselm), devoted father to Gillian MacLeod, Mark D’Rozario, Cheryl Ashley (Oatley), cherished grandad to Ryan and Lauren Ashley, Simon and Rory MacLeod, Samantha and Jessica D’Rozario. Survived by sisters Beryl Taylor, Margaret Palman and Flo Pears. Herb was truly loved and will be missed by the numerous nieces, nephews and friends who enjoyed his humour and frankness and admired him as a true gentleman. Born in India, he graduated as a Professional Engineer and was employed by the Indian Railways as a Divisional Mechanical Engineer. He immigrated to Canada in 1967 and worked with Bell Canada as an Engineer. He switched to teaching and was employed by the Toronto Separate School Board until he retired in 1990. Family and friends will be received at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge St., Toronto, on Thursday, August 10th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10.30 a.m. on Friday, August 11th at St Gabriel’s Church, 670 Sheppard Ave. E. Reception to follow. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, 8361 Yonge St., Thornhill. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Doctors Without Borders would be appreciated.
