HERBERT VICTOR FORMANEK
November 12, 1930 – November 3, 2016
Herbert passed away peacefully and with dignity at the age of 85 on November 3, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre after a brief illness. Born in Kropfnwold (Grafenfeld), Gottschee on November 12 1930 and immigrated to Canada in 1951. As an entrepreneur he founded in 1961 Star Aquarium and maintained a successful business for 55 years. In 1967 he married Ann Gallagher and shared 48 years of marriage and was a proud father to John, Karoline and Judith and a loving grandfather to Jarvis and Natasha. Herbert was happiest when spending time with family, good conversation and watching westerns. Herbert and Ann were gracious, generous, kind and loving to everyone. Herbert was predeceased by his wife Ann, infant son Paul Martin and brother, Ferdinand. Family will receive friends at the Simple Alternative Funeral Centre, 1535 South Gateway Rd., Mississauga. Visitation on November 10th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on November 11th at 12 noon.
