HERMANLALTA RAMPERSAUD

HERMAN LALTA RAMPERSAUD, BA Beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle, passed away December 26, 2016, 79 years (Woodstock). Leaves wife Dollene, daughter Susan and grandchildren Jack, Finn and Stella. Predeceased by sister Kathleen and leaves two brothers, Ronald and Anthony, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Born in Guyana, raised in Trinidad, came to Canada at 22 years old. Loved all things Canadian “except the food!” BA (Trent) and teacher’s college (Althouse, University of Western Ontario). Taught in Woodstock/ London before joining administrative staff as General Manager of E.E. Paquette & Sons Ltd., Woodstock. Loved “jungle food,” curry and all things spicy. Liked his music loud! Known as the “baby whisperer,” no infant ever cried in his arms… or wore clothes for that matter (“this child’s skin has to BREATHE!”). Had a special gift for photography. Favourite subject to photograph was daughter Susan! Built his own dark room, then became expert in Photoshop (loved altering photos in funny and wicked ways!) Ahead of his time with technology, first parent on block to own video camera, VCR (and Betamax of course!). Built his own webpage before anyone knew what that meant! Gifted with computers, always taking apart to rebuild and make faster! Most passionate about his family whom he loved with all of his heart. His grandchildren were as devoted to him as he was to them, giving him back scratches and hand massages to the very end. Herman’s last words spoken were “I love you, too!” to his wife, daughter and grandchildren. Family wishes to invite anyone whose life he touched to the family home at a later interment date where we will celebrate and share our favourite stories. Thank you to Sakura House and especially Woodingford staff for their love and caring. He was truly a lucky man to be cared for by all of you. Thank you to all eating establishments in the Oxford County area that he frequented daily for his breakfasts. You knew how to cook his eggs “just so!” As Herman would say, “Over and out, toodly doodly doo.
