HILDEGARDE”HILDA” (WANK) DZIEWA

HILDEGARDE (HILDA) DZIEWA (nee WANK) At the age of 87 and after more than 10 years of living with Alzheimer’s, she has left us to be with the love of her life, Walter, who has waited for her for over 20 years. Now two souls walk hand in hand, In a place where there’s no mortal man, Where spirits know no sorrow, no pain, And where our Mom knows Dad again. Mother of Carole-Anne, Susan and Stan. Mother-in-law to Roy and Maureen and Granny to Erica, Alix and Derek. Sister of Helen. Aunt Hilda to many nieces and nephews. Special mom to Rob. In keeping with Hilda’s wishes, burial beside her beloved Walter has already taken place. And to the unsung heroes who deal with this wretched disease day in and day out, our heartfelt thanks go out to you… Dr. Verma and Darshana for always being available when she needed you, Richard and Gabrielle at CCAC for always taking our calls and making Hilda a priority, Lisa, Kathy and Yannique at Eldercare for giving us your constant support, Lynn, Dr. Marcus and Dean for helping us transition Hilda to palliative care, Ophelia, Miguel, Winsome, Sonia, Haddas and Dr. Brody for the comfort and care you gave her during the final leg of her journey and to Hilda’s angels, her wonderful caregivers – Bela, Jane, Shagini, Sherma, Stephanie, Tammy and Tylah. You kept her safe, put up with her shenanigans, laughed with her, cried with her, but most importantly, you showered her with kindness and affection and made her life meaningful until the end. How absolutely lucky she was to have you all.
